  • Occasional 80mg of Pantoprazole?

I've been suffering sever ulcer problems for months, due to too many antibiotics and other medications. I have been on 40mg of Pantoprazole, once a day, for 2 months, with Nexium (40mg, once daily) and Rantidone (150mg, twice daily) added since the 27th.

I have an appointment with a GE for the 8th, and they intend to do an upper gi endoscopy on me.

My biggest concern is that 1-3 times a week the ulcer attacks are so crippling I have to take two Pantoprazoles in the same day. For example, in the past 8 days I've taken 11. Last month was even worse, with me doubling the dosage every other day almost. The addition of the Nexium and Rantidone has helped me greatly, but I'm still concerned that taking the excessive Pantoprazole may cause some kind of damage to me.

    So, thoughts?

  • Does anyone remember the name of this old microscope?

This is an odd question, but I really want to be able to find out what the microscope I had was called. My uncle was a university headmaster and he gave it to me as a child, so while I believe it was just for kids, I can remember my mother telling me it was expensive, so maybe it was just an at home microscope.

    - It was roughly cube shaped, and lightish grey.

    - You could change the zoom like in a normal microscope- it worked

    - It came with many sample slides- grasshopper wing, ect.

    - It came with blank glass slides for me to look at my own things

It wasn't shaped like normal microscopes- it was kind of a foot tall and very cube shaped.

I got it around 1997, but it looked older at the time I got it. So, does anyone else remember having something like that?

  • Can antibiotics cause severe irritation to an existing ulcer, over a long period?

I have been on antibiotics for 4 months. My stomach ulcer has been acting up increasingly often, and I've begun getting very nauseous after taking them. I had a staff infection in my lymphnodes, down the side of my neck, and needed surgery to remove lymphnodes and FNA's to test.

    Antibiotics-

Augmentin & Clav for 10 days

    Ciproflaxen for 10 days

    Ciproflaxen for 14 days

    Ciproflaxen for 3 days

    Doxycycline for 21 days

    Doxycycline for 10 days

I have 2 more days left of my last doxycycline, and they think the infection is finally gone, but I am in agony.

    Help.
