  • Help Help I need a answer please?

    I have 9 pair of zebra finches.They are doing great.My question is I am having trouble with flies.It now that time of year I know but a bother.I don't like them near my birds food and such.I feed them greens eggs etc so it is a bother.I have found that if you put rosemary, peppermint,blue tanzy,all a pure oil in water in a bowl it makes flies leave. My question is does this hurt my finches.So many things like cooking with taflon pans can kill a finch so can these oils in water do that.Please help and if not this does anyone have a solution to get reed of flies thank you please respond I don't want to hurt my birds

  • can finches get spread leggs?

    I have a zebra finch.she has laid eggs and now has 4 babies.the babies are fine for now but she took some nesting out for some reason and i notice that some of them are on the plastic floor of nest.so can they get sladed leggs from this and if so what can i do to help stop it with out haveing to disturb her so much.this is her first clutch so dont want to spook her.please help me with any ideas thank you

  • Please Help with my finches?

    I have a pair of zebra finches.they have two babies.they are feeding babies very well and are very protective of them.This being said I just now got to look at them good.One is big enough that the eyes are open and he has some feathers.He is big too.the other baby is so small it looks healthy and i saw the female feeding him so why is he sooo small.is this going to cause him to be hurt by the bigger one.will the parents continue to care for him after the other one has left the nest.the little one is for from leaving the nest so what will the parents do if one does and the other one doesn't.please help with all advice you can give.i thought that the babies grew some what at the same rate so what if they do not like in this case. help me please in what to do thank you.

  • rubber tree plant help me?

    ok i have a rubber plant.it is growing great however i have two questions.one wit warmer weather coming how often do i water the rubber plant tree.does the soil need to stay moist or des it need to dry out between watering.two my rubber plant leaves are getting dusty.i dust my house regularly but i haven't dusted the plant leaves.how do i get the dust off without harming the leaves or plants.thank you i need all the help i can get.do not want to lose plant.

  • HELP HELP HELP my zebras or acting funny?

    i have a pair of zebras finches.they laid 5 eggs all have hatched babies doing fine growing fast.my question is this morning my female was at bottom of cage. her feathers are puffed up and she had her head tucked under her wing. i engaged her to move she flew fine i did notice that just above her leg feathers are missing.so i watched for a while and the male went to her and she instantly flew away from him he chased her and pulled a beak full of feathers out.i was shocked they always got along he put them in the nest.now my question is what to do with the male and why is female sleeping alot and puffed up.i give them plenty of egg food veg's and fruit water is changed daily cage is also cleaned regularly.p[lease help all ansewers are accepted.i did put a very little tissue in after this and the male jumped on it he whats to keep making nest i know they will layer so i will not put anymore in i just did to help stop him from pulling feathers.help with my female is she sick and what to do with male THANK YOU i need your help

  • zebras not sitting on eggs?

    I have a pair of zebras.they have laid 5 eggs.during the day one of them is always setting on them.I thought they were good parents.however tonight i checked on them several times and they are both sleeping outside the nest.Is this going to effect the eggs from hatching.they stopped laying days ago and are only sitting now.also they are healthy and well feed with seed greens and egg mix.i just seen they sleep outside the nest at night.will that kill the eggs and is this normal to break the sitting cycle.please help me. all ansewers will be great and used.please tell me all you know on this matter.i really want the eggs to hatch and i think they should sit on them at night let me know if i am right.thank you.

  • zebra finch eggs HELP?

    i have two pair of zebra finches.they both started laying eggs at the same time.one egg a day.one pair is up to 4 eggs today but the other pair stopped laying two days ago.if she hasn't laid in 2 days does this mean her eggs are not fertial.she only sets on them at night but she is in and out of the nest in the day time.she just doesnt stay in there long.should i wait before removeing eggs and if so how long.i just never heard of them waiting 2 days or more between laying. help with any advice.

    i have ask several questions on this site and have gotten good an sewers.here is another.i have two pair of zebra's one has 3 eggs and one has 2 i have been told different things on when the start to set on them.some say after 3 eggs some say after all the eggs are laid so my question is are both right or is there someone who can add to this i just want to do my best by them. any impute will help thanks

    i have two pair of finches.they both laid one egg on 3-10-13.they laid another on the 11th.i checked today and only one pair laid an egg.now one has3 and the other has 2 so my question is why did the other pair not lay a egg today.i know they lay a egg a day until they lay all the eggs.so can she skip a day or is the other 2 ok. is this normal.
