If a kid tells their counselor about an abusive parents the counselor may tell the parents. This may cause the parent to increase their abuse. Or, if the child is taken from the parents because of reporting abuse, the child will feel extreme guilt, may have relatives blame and ostracize them, and may be placed with an abusive foster parent. Is it any wonder kids don't want to tell? These poor kids have to live with frightening parents who abuse them. They really don't have options. It's easy to say tell a counselor, but the child has to live with the unpredictable and scary results of that. What should I write to a child who's being abused but doesn't want to tell another adult for the above reasons?

and it said JaneD (the person I had emailed) posted this comment on a web site called 'omg', a celebrity gossip site, which was linked. I was surprised. Will comments I post on sites appear under my name when someone replies to an email I sent? I asked Jane Doe, who didn't know why this message appeared, and said she never posted on the omg site. What's going on?

In NY, you can see these things at night. In California, they don't use reflective paint on roads and curbs. Driving at night was easier and safer in New York. Anyone know why reflective road paint for yellow and white road lines, and to highlight sidewalk curbs and medians so they're visible at night, isn't used in California?
