This is a habit that my now retired husband has gotten into. I thought it may be harmful to the trucks shocks/suspension and possibly bad for the rear tires of the truck since this tends to keep them suppressed.

Can you give me an example?

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.

Could it be any simpler than that?

If we don't begin controlling our spend and borrow ways?

This will be put forward to be passed by the Senate this week. If you are opposed to this amount of spending during our tough economic times, it would be wise to write your representatives before they vote!

signing H.R. 2 into law, Obama happily signed onto the idea that smokers should pay for a $35 billion expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP). Cigarette taxes are going up 61 cents a pack starting April 1. Obama signed this bill knowing that the majority of smokers in the United States are working poor, and one in four lives below the federal poverty line.

With all the action that Congress is putting out there and the seeming willingness of our President to allow them to have their way, isn't it about time that "we the people," took some initiative of our own to flood the switchboard with our concerns? OR, if you'd rather you can always go to www.whitehouse.gov and you'll find a "contact us" in the upper right hand top of the page. It's time we became involved and quit just whining about things. I have heard her name come up for this post more than once. Personally I have doubts that she'll choose to leave the Senate to become an appointee of the new administration. Doing this would surely limit her effectiveness, as she would then have to clearly follow the guidelines set forth by Obama.

Seriously, many of you voted him into office. I want to know some specific reasons behind the vote you gave him. Not things like, "cause he's cool." I'd like to have some honest input.

Please give me specific examples of things he has done or accomplished that made him the man you supported.

do you believe more people will continue to have their eyes on politics, or will most people become uninvolved once more? Personally I think it would be wonderful if more people remained watchful over our Government heads, Write to your Senator/Congressperson/Governor/and the White house!

Since they can basically live pretty much where they want. If it was you, would you consider leaving the US? Do people realize they already pay over 30% of the total taxes collected?
