I'm currently in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) program at UOIT. After completion of the program, I hope to attend medical school or a nurse practitioner program. At the moment I work as a personal support worker (PSW) at a nursing home for my summer job. I am also a certified lifeguard with training in emergency first aid.

  • How to dye a black skirt red?

I have a black skirt and I want to dye it red. The skirt is 55% polyester and 45% cotton. Should I bleach it first and then use fabric dye? Or will it work if I just use fabric dye?

  • What is the term for using articles that you have found in a reference list of an article?

I am doing a systematic review as a part of research I've been working on all summer in my undergrad and need to figure out this term to include in my methodology, to explain how I got some of the articles.

So, what is the term for using articles that you found in a reference list of an article? So for example, I read a paper on prostate cancer, go to the reference list and use some of the articles from there too in my review. What is that process called? Thanks in advance to any that can help me out!

  • Why does lung cancer cause a change in cough?

Specifically, in a long-term smoker, why does lung cancer cause a PRODUCTIVE cough, with greater amounts of sputum? I cannot understand this since the cilia are depleted/absent, and if the person previously had a dry non-productive cough, why does it suddenly become productive?

  • What can I expect at this interview? What to wear?

I have an interview for Fruits & Passions in 8 hours. This is a bath/home store with aromatherapy products, etc. I am wondering what type of questions I can expect? What types of answers should I have prepared?

I am doing and will continue to do research on the company, but I am really not sure what else to do in preparation. Any advice would be helpful!

Also I am not sure what to wear, it's very very hot right now (35 degrees Celsius, 40 with the humidex) so would it be appropriate to wear a short sleeved nice shirt with a pencil skirt and pointed toe shoes? Thank you in advance for any help!

  • Lifeguard interview: what to expect?

I have an upcoming interview for a lifeguard position at the YMCA in the Greater Toronto Area. This will be my first lifeguarding position so I'm not sure what to expect at the interview. All I know is that there will be a "wet" and "dry" portion of the interview, and it's going to be about 4 hours total. Any idea as to what I can expect? Will they ask situational questions in the dry interview? Will I have to do timed laps in the wet interview? Thanks in advance for help!

  • Effexor side effects: what is this uncomfortable "brain zapping"?

I've been on Effexor for about two years. If I accidently miss a dose, just one day, I get a very irritating feeling in my head. I can only describe it as a "zapping" in my brain, a very sharp, PAINLESS, shaking. It is constant and remains for the next 24 hours until a few hours after I get the next dose. Nothing makes this go away, I can feel it in my sleep and when I am awake. I have been to the ER for it, had an MRI and such with no abnormalities detected, so I am certain it is these meds.

I want to know what would be happening in my brain that would be causing this. I am an RN student and I just want to better understand the biochemistry behind what this could be. Hypotheses are welcome. Stupid, immature answers are not.

Lastly, in a week I will be on half of the dose I am now (trying to be weened off them). Has anyone else experienced these symptoms while their dose was halved? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
