  • What do you think is the significance of the fact that gayness isn't genetic but epigenetic?

New research suggests, that gayness is an accidental carry down of epigenes from father to daughter or mother to son. Epigenes are unique to every person, and are erased before being handed down. However, new research shows that occasionally an epigene might not get erased and gets passed down. For example an epigene that might make a mother more sexually attractive and fertile if it accidentally gets passed down to her son might make him gay and vise versa with father to daughter lesbianism.

What kind of impact do you think this has on homosexuality? Does that mean it's a defect? Does that make it more easy to be cured? Does that make it more harder to be cured? Does it make it more/less acceptable?

  • Why is it when you give an answer about the bible that an atheist doesn't like?

They say you didn't answer the question? Just because you didn't LIKE the answer doesn't mean its not an answer.

They say, "answer this question, but don't say 'you're taking it out of context or mistranslated' or don't say [fill in the blank]"

Why is it that they want you to answer a question, but they tell you not to answer the question with the correct answer? Why would someone want to be lied to and given a wrong answer? Are they THAT afraid of the spirituality that they would rather be lied to then hear the truth?

  • why do people have such inaccurate concepts about biblical doctrine and God?

Even lots of people who identify as Christians have such erroneous beliefs. Even some people that Identify as Born-again. Has Satan so infected the church to have lead so many believers astray?

  • I don't understand some people's logic?

Lot's of people will tell you that you're born with your sexual orientation. And if someone doesn't like being gay, they tell them to just accept who they are because they were born that way. But then when a transgendered person comes along they're all like, "well that person wasn't suposed to be born that way, they're just trapped in the body of the oposite sex."

Well, what if the other person was a straight person born in the body of a gay person? What if they want to change into the person they were MEANT to be? Why the double standards? You wouldn't tell the transgendered person that they were just "born that way" and to accept the gender they were born with.

  • I know lots of people don't like LGTB people but what about the not so popular sexual orientations?

like Asexuals, polysexuals, demisexuals, pansexuals, and genderqueer

Asexual: Dosn't feel sexual attraction. Only feels romanitc attraction.

Polysexual: Similar to bisexual, except they don't belive everyone can be categorized into two genders like hermaphrodites and such.

Demisexual: Halfway between sexual and asexual. Dosen't expirence "primary" sexual attraction, only "secondary" sexual attraction.

Pansexual: Blind to the gender/identity of the thing/person in question

Genderqueer: Does not associate themselves with either gender, but thinks of themself as both or neither.

  • What would you do if I told you I was a demisexual?

Just found out I am, so how do you feel about that?

  • why do atheists believe religion will die off? is it wishful thinking?

If the number one reason that religion exists is because of individuals personal encounters with the paranormal, supernatural, and spiritual. How do atheists estimate that religion will die off soon? If anything paranormal experiences keep growing, not shrinking. Unless these experiences suddenly stop happening, I don't see religion going away at all.

At most, I can see all religions converging into one universal new age religion, eventually, but I don't see it going away all together.

  • how many failed species would there be?

According to evolution, for every transitional species that successfully made it to continue the evolutionary tree, how many transitional species evolved that failed and died off?

I'm looking for a rough ratio estimate.

  • according to evolution: approximately how many different species were there?

  • I had a really weird vampire and zombie dream.?

In my dream, we were in what appeared to be a third world country( we all lived in shacks and there was a bartering market) I was living in a house with a couple women who were single mothers. One of the mothers was fighting to get costody of her children from their father that lived elsewhere.

( For reference: I lost my little brothers and sisters to foster care when my mom lost a custody battle a couple years ago.)Anyway, in my dream it was becomeing a fad among the children of the village to become a zombie. They would go up to random zombies wandering around and have it bite them. It was the "cool" thing to do. However, some thought it was cooler to become vampires. There was a religious group that felt this fad was an abomination. The women in my shack were part of that group and forbade their children to join this fad. However most of them did anyway. In the end the infected started attacking everyone else and the religous group ended up gunning down all the infected.

...And decides what your punishment will be, how long will that list of sins be?

Or will you have a blank slate because you accepted Jesus's redemptive gift of a clean slate?

  • dream about superpowers?

I had a dream that me and a group of people were in this complex and we were supposed to raid our opponents base on the other side. Half way through the fight we were given the option of activating any powers we might have had before we were put into the game. Me and this other guy were the only two with superpowers on our team (to the best of my knowledge the other team didn't have anybody with superpowers.) We flipped the switch to activate it and our powers started working (I think I could send out energy bursts from my hand and could jump really high with superspeed boosts.) But when we activated mine, they started glitching, they only worked for short bursts and then kept turning off, we had to keep resetting mine, but the other guys was working fine. This was really frustrating to me. Then I woke up. What does this dream mean?

    9. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.

  • Why do people take the "Do not judge" verse out of context all the time?

The verse is talking about not judging other believers on a sin if the person themselves is committing the same sin. Pretty much it's saying, "Don't be hypocritical."

    Matthew 7:1-5:

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

In fact the Bible encourages Christians to judge as long as they're being impartial, just, and non-hypocritical.

    1 Corinthians 6:1-3:

    "Lawsuits Among Believers"

If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

  • If evolution contradicts the second law of thermodynamics doesn't that mean...?

there's a flaw with the theory?

The second Law of thermodynamics states that all things are breaking down from something complex to something more simple. But evolution says that everything is growing from something simple to something complex.

Since they contradict, should we throw away the scientific LAW or the scientific THEORY?
