  • Swollen Lymph nodes help!?

I have had horrid allergies my entire life always port nasal drip and always in the summer. I got engaged last year and my fiancee and I moved, not very far (only 3 hours away) but it is a nice place. This summer I have not had post nasal drip at all, great right? No, I have had a strange tickling feeling in my throat all summer I figured it was allergies and put it off, but two mornings ago I woke up with HUGE lymph nodes in my throat. They are so enlarged that they are literally touching my uvula. I took some Ibuprofen and and Allegra and have been trying to relax but I feel constricted like I cannot breathe. My fiancee and I are an extremely young couple and we haven't even built any credit yet (this is our first house and my family cosigned on it to help us get approved) we just can't afford to go to the doctor not even for a check up let alone if something is seriously wrong! What do I do! I am at a complete loss and I feel like crud.

  • Air Conditioner on still really hot?

My Fiancee and I just paid close to 280 dollars Friday morning for our air conditioner to be fixed he charged us 74 dollars for a diagnostic and then almost 200 dollars to replace the capacitor. The guy was outside for about 10 minutes then he replaced the capacitor (took him all of 20 minutes total) and handed me the bill saying "it will take a day or two for the house to cool down." 4 days later it is hotter inside our house than it is outside. The coils are NOT frozen nor is the grill dirty. Our house is not as humid as it was but it is still pretty humid (we do live near the water in Virginia). I am absoutely furious that it is this hot in our house I am 16 months pregnant and have Low blood sugar and high blood pressure the heat is a NIGHTMARE for me and I am starting to get delirious. We have called them around 25 times (their website says they are open today) but no answer or response. I feel like if we payed that 74 dollar diagnostic fee he could at LEAST come back and tell us what else is wrong.

    To clarify the system is:

    -Dehumidifying

-Pushing air that is not hot, but definitely not cold

-Pushing air at a normal rate

    -The fan outside IS on

    -The coils are NOT frozen

    -The coils are NOT dirty

What else could it be he said he checked the refrigerant level and it was fine and we had no leaks but I am starting to seriously doubt that he checked at all. Help I feel so cheated!

  • Heat pump not cooling house?

We moved into this house a little less than a year ago, it was still warm and when we moved in the air conditioner was working fine. Mid-winter it started getting extremely cold in the house, e figured it was just becuase of the snow and etc...and delt with it, bundled up and so on.

Today, in April, it is about 87 degrees outside and 94 degrees in our house, the air conditioner has been running nonstop for over 4 days now and the house has not cooled down at all! When we put our hands close to the vent there is air coming out but it is weak and no cooler then 76-79 degrees. I am Hypoglycemic and don't deal with heat well at all and I constantly feel like I am about to pass out!

We have tried everything turning it off then back on, letting the fan run for a few hours then turning the conditioner back on, nothing has worked and I am at my witts end, we just moved into this house and this is making me hate it! We unfortunately cannot, and will not be able t afford a contractor either, between school and family I barely make enough to pay the bills right now and I don't have ten dollars to spare let alone a few hundred!

    Help please!

  • Extremely Skittish Dog?

I own 3 dog's two of which are rescues. Our first Rescue a husky named Aurora was Neurotic when we got her but now she is completely "normal" she is even going through training to become a therapy dog!

    She is not the problem.

2 weeks ago we rescued a 1 and 1/2 year old Italian Greyhound, We named her Ophelia since she did not respond to her previous name and we hated it.

The day we brought her home we slowly introduced her to our 2 dogs (again as sh had already met them before) she had a small case of kennel cough which we were able to relieve in about 2 days. We thought the cough could be the reason she was acting so bizarre. Hiding in corners, bolting around the house and running into things whenever someone stands up or god forbids walks towards her. She is covered in scratches from where she has run into things, it has gotten to the point where we have to have her on a leash in the house for her own safety!

2 weeks later I am sitting in front of the computer because we have made 0 progress I devote between 5-10 hours a day to working with this dog we go on walks we try to spend alone time I hand feed her treats and her food, she even got her on little thanksgiving meal but she still poops herself (literally, she poops on herself) when not just myself but anyone walks towards her. I am trying really hard not to give up but I am at my breaking point I can't keep watching this dog go through this, and quite frankly I don't know what to do anymore.

any ideas would be helpful, and don't tel me to google, I have been looking high and low on google, to no avail.

    Thank You

  • Italian Greyhound Clothing?

My Fiancée and I rescued a little Italian Greyhound yesterday. Her name is Ophelia and she is about 9 months old. We want to get her a few high quality jackets and/or sweaters since "winter is upon us" We have found a few sites VoyagerK9 etc... but we were wondering if anyone else had some suggestions. She is extremely small less than 8 lb's so she really needs clothes that are breed specific. any input will be graciously accepted.

    Thank You

  • How to teach pups to eat from separate bowls?

SO here is the problem, I am good at training dogs, but I am having a problem.

I have two puppies a scottish terrier, (16 weeks old) (purchased from a breeder, akc registered, champion blood line, already house broken) and a Siberian Husky (9 weeks old) (rescued from an irresponsible private breeder, proven pure-bred, aca registered, wooly coated) they are both females. They get along great but we have one problem.

The husky's diet is Blue Medium Breed Puppy Food, and the Scotties food is Blue Small Breed Puppy Food. I am trying to teach them to eat from their own bowls.

I have tried everything that normally works feeding at different times, Feeding in different rooms, A simple "uh oh" correction accompanied by moving the puppy from the wrong bowl to the correct one.

The scottie is starting to get it, but will eat from the husky's bowl when I am not looking.

is there any other methods anyone is aware of to help, or is this going to be a much longer training process then It usually is?

    Thank You!

  • 8 Week Old Puppy Semi-Lethargic?

We brought home our puppy 3 days ago. He is as min pin named jack and he is ADORABLE the only problem is he is "semi-lethargic" he will play with you but not too much (ie no jumping) he will just kind of run and chase your hand but after a few minutes he wants to sleep again. He has a round belly (the breeders dog food was apparently very high in fat!) but we were able to successfully switch his food and his round belly is slimming down some. We just want to know if we should be worried or if this is normal for a puppy this young that has just been brought home. he has a vet visit set up for Friday for his tags and 8 week shots (and general check up)
