  • BFP followed by BFN. Should I keep testing?

Hello all. Been married 2 years. Just started trying. Three days ago, I tested w/Clearblue and got a BFP. I was thrilled and shocked, so just to assure myself, I tested again with First Response, and got a BFN. Then two more BFNs in the last two days. I know blue ink sometimes causes problems, and the Clearblue was an ink test. Maybe I just want to believe I'm pregnant. Should I stop testing for awhile?

  • What is a safe meal for a radiation therapy patient?

My mother just told me she has cancer. She is undergoing radiation therapy next week. I want to make her dinner. What is a safe meal? Is it true that she can't have raw foods or greasy foods? What about pastas?

Is it true I cannot bring her flowers?

  • How to remove mascara stains from car upholstery?

Long story short- yesterday, my fiance and I were in the car. I was putting on my make up; he made a sharp turn, and my mascara brush smashed into the car upholstery. Any suggestions for removal? Thanks!

  • When someone at work lends you a sweater, do you take it home and wash it?

I was cold and a coworker offered me her sweater. It seems kind of obvious to me that I should take it home and wash it, but should I get permission from her to remove it from the office in order to take it home to wash it?

I was very excited to receive a job offer yesterday afternoon; however, I have a second interview today for a job that I think I would enjoy more. How do I tactfully tell the interviewer today about the job offer yesterday? Should I bring it up? Could I use it to my advantage?

    Thanks for the advice!

  • Is the "dollar dance" tacky?

Is it tacky to have a "dollar dance" at a wedding. Guests already bring gifts, right? Do the bride and groom ever donate the money from the dollar dance? Would that be wrong?

  • What to wear for engagement pictures?

I have never seen engagement photos done in the spring, but that is the plan for my fiance and me. Are we supposed to dress casually? Would it be weird if he wore shorts?

  • This might seem kind of mean, but how do I tell an annoying friend I don't want to go on vacation with her?

I have this friend who is a very sweet girl, but she is horribly annoying and embarrassing. We have been friends for a long time, and when we were growing up, her parents were never around and I believe as a result, she is rediculously inappropriate. We're in our mid-twenties, and she'll still talk about potty humor, or shout "I can see your underwear" in public places. She also asks very personal questions. I have talked to her about this many times, but I have come to accept that she's not going to grow up. Now she is constantly getting on me about going on a weekend trip together. I know that I won't survive a whole weekend with her. How can I say no politely?

  • Birthday Gift for Dad who is generally unimpressed by everything?

My dad is so incredibly hard to shop for. He is generally unimpressed with every gift I have ever given him. He does so much for me I just want to make him happy. He's into baseball (but he won't go to a game unless he has skybox seats), he loves wine (but only a brand that is no longer sold in PA -- PA liquor laws are really stupid), he loves to go out to eat. Any suggestions?

  • Cat a neutered cat still have sex?

I know this is a weird question. We have two cats: a male and a female. They are both one year old. We had the male neutered by our vet and the animal shelter where we got the female says she was fixed. We have found out that she still has some ovary tissue which is causing her to go into heat and because she's fixed there's nothing we can do about it according to our vet. However, my fiance says that he has seen the cats "mating." I don't know what to do! They are both supposed to be fixed!! If he is able to "have sex" does that mean that he wasn't properly neutered!!? thanks

  • Do most people hate their jobs? Do you hate your job?

It is true that most people hate their jobs? Do they hate every facet of their jobs or do they at least have one thing that they enjoy about their jobs (coworkers, the work itself, the location, etc.)?

  • Groom doesn't seem to care about wedding?

My fiance and I are to be married next spring. I was hoping to get a guest list together so I could start budgeting food costs, invitation costs, etc.

I have asked my fiance to give me names of people he would like to invite to the wedding so I can get started on budgeting. He is completely uninterested. I have tried to get my family (who is paying for the wedding) and his sister (an attendant) to talk to him about why it is important to get a guest list together and to budget early, but he still doesn't seem to care. He is so uninterested in doing any wedding details that he still hasn't asked his brother to be his best man yet, and we've been engaged for five months! He keeps telling me we have "plenty of time."

Sometimes I wonder why he proposed at all.

Is this normal for grooms? Can I expect him to be this unenthusiatic for the entire wedding process? How do I deal with him not giving me a guest list?

    Thanks in advance.

  • When should bridesmaids buy dresses & MOH dress problems?

I am getting married May 22, 2010. Each of my bridesmaids can choose their dress (no two can have the same), and I was going to let them pick in standing order starting with my MOH, my sister.

I suggested yesterday while talking to three of my bridesmaids that maybe this summer we could go out and look at some dresses, but my sister said that she doesn't want to do that because she won't be down to her "desired weight" by then and she won't be able to assess which dresses would look the best on her. She also thinks we would be looking too early even though we picked dresses for her wedding 9 months out.

Is 9 or 10 months out too early? Does that seem fair that everyone should wait? Should I wait for my sister to lose weight before ANY of the bridesmaids can choose dresses? Should I just not let my sister choose first?

    Thanks in advance.

  • My 7 year old cat is sneezing a lot?

My parents' 7 year old female british calico is sneezing about 15 times a day. She did the same thing when we brought her home from the shelter about 5 years ago and this is the first time she has sneezed this frequently since.

Could she have allergies? An upper respiratory infection?

Extra information: she is the only cat living in the home; she has a deviated septum and has always snorts when sleeps.

  • What are the odds that a tiny woman will go into labor early?

I have a sweet coworker who is super skinny, and she is only 8 months pregnant, but her belly is HUGE!!! (I mean, you would have thought she was at 9 months a few months ago!) She says that she still has another 6 weeks to go, but my coworkers are telling me they think she is going to go to labor any day now.

I'm just curious because I was planning on booking a flight to visit my friend in California in 3 weeks, but if she's going to be on maternity leave, I doubt I will be able to go.

    Thanks in advance.
