  • Is my GF over reacting or do i need mental help?

my GF and i have been living together over 2 years and she has a 5 yr old son. I believe she is extremely delicate with him and i think

5 is a good age to break them in on what is right and what is wrong. For example, the reason on my post is this. i own a business, she is at work. the kid asks me for dinner (granted we had lunch 2.5 hrs ago) i said let me finish this up gimme 20min. when i go to the cupboard, i notice 2 candy bars missing. then when i ask him about it, he takes me to his underwear drawer where there are the empty wrappers & SCISSORS then in our bedroom he has explained he also ate a yogurt and a banana and some hard candy-hefty snack- behind the TV the yogurt is upside down with the remains melted in the rug and the candy and banana squashed in the ground with the peel. i tell him its bedtime no dinner. Mom says i need therapy and am too hard on the child, "he is scared of you its ur fault he hides food"?am i crazy? i have also discussed this with him more than once

  • My Girlfriend's son loves grandparents more than her??!?

I have been living with my GF over a yr now, we got a house together and are doing fine. her 4 yr old son however has some issues when it comes to his grandparents..i dont really know how to react cuz i never grew up with grands, but he mentions his grandma in nearly every sentence that comes out of his mouth throughout the day and night. and when we are done with bedtime battles he sometimes refers to her as well. but every time it is time to leave grandparents house he throws a major fit, cryng hysterically and wont say goodbye to anyone, then continues the fit the whole way home. EVERYTIME we give him pre emptive warnings about his atitude there and when leaving, and he still keeps up the atitude and manipulates his way because i cant really get too strict with him in front of them, yet he only listens when i speak to him really. our house is nice..nicer than grandma's and he never wants to come home and makes his mom upset all the time. it seems he loves grandma more than mom????

  • 4 yr old bedtime battles?

I have been living with my girlfriend over a yr now and her 4 yr old son has a serious prob when it comes to lights out. He crys alot and says he is scared of the dark. but he has 3 nightlights and the hall light?!?! we have a routine where my GF puts him down at about 9:00-9:30 which i think is too late. but mom doesnt get much time with him during the day. we do the usual brushing teeth, bath, bedtime story. but before this is done and after the story time it is all tears. He wakes up entirely too early too and comes bursting into our room loudly. also for a 4 yr old he raises his voice entirely too much at his mother and only does what he is told when i tell him. granted he did used to sleep in bed with mom before i came along...but it has been well over a yr. almost 2 and becoming a everynight ordeal with the crying at bedtime. I have tried reading to him untill he falls asleep but mom falls asleep while im reading and he is still wide awke. ive read to him for over an hr at times?

  • bad eating habits, why doesnt my 4 yr old son chew his food.?

I have been living with my GF over a yr and her 4 yr old son does not chew his food. He holds it in his mouth like a squirrel or something. for minutes...he will Talk with food in his mouth, run with food in his mouth, and get up from the table with the last few bites in his mouth. and will just hold it in his mouth??!!? Whats the deal with that? I even stress to him and my grlfriend how dangerous it can be, EX: he could choke on non chewed food, and what if he is running with this food in his mouth and happens to slip and fall...He just doesnt listen and it is to the point where it is an embarassment, even in public places he does this. Any help or advice.??
