  • Are automobile titles in NJ now purple?

My titles for my other cars have red borders and light colored paper. The title I received for the latest car has purple borders on light purple paper. Are the new titles purple like this or does the purple signify something else?

  • Is a car battery "tray" required or necessary for vehicles?

Bought a used car and the battery died.

Bought a new one and installed it, however, there was no battery tray in the engine compartment.

Do I need to get one or is it okay for the battery to sit in there as long as it is secured? Will my new battery drain quicker with no tray? What is the benefit of the tray? Thanks!

  • What would you do in this situation? Either get car repaired or check for repairs through insurance?

I recently was in a fender bender with a big truck at low speed, however, the rear passenger quarter panel over the tire is pushed in. This damage includes the door, rear quarter panel, tire, rear bumper, and the whole area next to the trunk above the bumper on the side. By the way it is a 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan, and I would estimate resale value of my car auto with 121,000 miles to be anywhere from 3000-5000 prior to the accident. The body shop said that the cost of the repairs in relation to the value of the car was borderline on total loss, however, they would have to check with the insurance company to see what they say. So insurance said that it was repairable. Looking at the estimate, the costs after my $500 deductible would be right around $2800 for the insurance. So I contacted my insurance agent and they said I could get the check or get it repaired.

Not sure what is more worth it to me. Taking a 2800 check and hope to sell the damaged vehicle as is or have the damages repaired then sell it fixed. The car does have some prior probs that will not be addressed in the damage from accident (A/C not working, cracked front bumper, cracked windshield, needs new fender/sideskirt). So I wonder if all these things added up make it not worth even getting fixed.

I don't have anyone to ask these questions to, so I ask all of you for your opinion/guidance/help. Thanks.

  • 98 Honda Accord fans don't kick on? Bad compressor? Or what?

I have a 1998 Honda Accord 4cyl Sedan. My a/c has been blowing air but it is warm/hot air. I went online and checked several ways to troubleshoot. Checked all the fuses, etc. However, I believe that the fans should kick on when I hit the a/c button inside the car and the fans likewise should turn off when I hit it off. At least that is how it works in my integra. Any help or guidance on this would greatly be appreciated. Please don't tell me to take it to a professional, etc. I'm trying to see if I can figure this out myself w/some help from all of you. This is partly a learning thing for me as well as a saving thing as well. Thanks.

  • How long does a carton of cigarettes stay fresh for if it is sealed?

I got a couple of cartons from a Captain of a ship, however, I do not smoke. I was wondering how long can these things be stored. I've had them about 6 months sitting in a closet. If they are bad, I don't want to give them away or trade them away then.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Wheel clamp stuck on my back wheel! How do I get this thing off?

I have a wheel clamp that I purchased instead of buying a club. I live in NJ and cars are always getting stolen. I went to take off my wheel clamp today and the key broke, as did my backup key. So now I have 2 broke keys (cheap ones apparently) and this wheel clamp stuck on my back rim. I need to drive this car to go to work and back, so I need to get this thing off without damaging my wheel, tire, and so forth. Any and all help is so much and greatly appreciated. Please help me! Thanks and Happy Holidays!

  • When wearing a suit, are you supposed to have a hankerchief in the pocket and do you remove the sleeve tag?

I've never owned a suite before, so I just want some clarification on the proper wearing of a suit. Is there a particular color that you should always wear to an interview? Black? Navy Blue? I also read something about stitched pockets? Newbie! Thanks everyone.
