  • Any theories on why I STILL have a FLEA PROBLEM?

The fleas have been here a month since we moved in. We DO NOT have pets. We have have HARDWOOD FLOORING. I sprayed with flea spray, which didn't work and then on Sept. 9th the exterminator sprayed the baseboards with a combo of three types of flea killer. I have vacuumed the entire house and and the baseboards, cracks, etc extensively 3 times. The last time I vacuumed was today...and I always throw out the bag after vacuuming. I just found 3 fleas (a couple hours after vacuuming) on my sock a few minutes ago.

For the past couple weeks I have almost stopped them from biting me. I pull my socks up and neurotically look down at my socks every 5 min or so when in the house. Since the exterminator came out they seem to be fewer in numbers. I have been finding an average of 4 FLEAs on my sock and I always kill them by drowning.

So...any thought on how they could be surviving and if I have any hope on them being completely gone? How are they multiplying if they aren't feeding. I live in L.A. so flea season is technically year round. Again...I have no pets and we are very clean. And I have researched a lot on fleas and can't seem to come up with a solution.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

  • What is the best store in los angeles to buy NFL player jerseys?

Looking for a place to buy a Michael Turner (Falcons) jersey. I know you can buy them online...I'm looking to go to a store and purchase it though. L.A. is so big, not really sure if there is a good store for jerseys...there must be.

I already called sports authority, big 5, and sports chalet....they don't carry it, only Raiders, Chargers....and for some reason Steelers and Saints?? I'm looking for a place that would have a jersey for at least a couple players from each team. Any suggestions?

  • What do the gray circular gauges mean in Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway?

I rented this game yesterday and have gotten about 1/4 through. I don't have the instruction manual so I'm trying to figure it out. I know the red circular gauge is life (which can regenerate on the enemy if you don't kill them fast enough), but I noticed that on some enemies once you get down to the red the gauge turns gray and sometimes it's almost impossible to get the gray one to go away. What does this gray gauge mean?

  • Will my flea problem go away?

I moved into a new place and it has fleas (I don't have pets). It's been 3 weeks and they are still turning up, on my legs and biting me...but there are fewer of them now then at 1st. The exterminator has come twice now and sprayed but the tricky part is that we have all hardwood flooring, so he can only spray the baseboards. After he sprays I vacuum the whole house and throw away the bag when I'm finished. A few weeks ago I would get them on my legs and socks constantly throughout the day. Now only a couple fleas a day and I pick them off of me and kill them. Has anyone ever been through this and do you think they will eventually be gone? All the ones that have bitten me lately have been killed. I just want them to be gone for good. Any suggestions?

  • Do you think baseball sucks? I think a change is necessary.?

I played little league as a kid and watched baseball growing up. But nowadays it seems like baseball is unbelievably boring. Don't get me wrong, I love to go to games (I live 5 minutes from Dodgers stadium). But watching on TV is mostly a waste of time (hardly any of the games count). I also think that baseball can be exciting this time of year, because many teams are fighting for the playoffs. All in all though, April through August, I think baseball is the boring-est sport out there. 162 games....and only the last 60 really matter. They should shorten the season in my opinion. I get that it's a "pasttime" and "tradition" and all that B.S., but as a past b-ball fan....I am totally bored with the sport. However...football is kick-butt. 16 games and every single one counts and can make or break the season. Ahhh.....thank god football is here and baseball is almost over. Baseball should change it's format, not to a football format, but maybe to a basketball one (80 + games). Then the game would really be more exciting! Am I the only one who think the sport needs a facelift?

  • Which Fantasy QB should I start this week, Ben Roethlisberger or Trent Edwards?

Roethlisberger is playing the Eagles and has an injured shoulder. Edwards has been looking good and is playing the Raiders. I am thinking about starting Edwards this week b/c he has an easier defensive opponent and has had a good 08' start so far. I also have Matt Cassel as a backup but I'm gonna wait on him. I like Edwards this week but not sure. Any opinions or advice?

  • How can I uninstall a ceiling hook?

I just moved into a new house and there are two ceiling hooks in the middle of the ceiling that serve no purpose. One is on the drywall part of the ceiling and the other is on one of the 4 solid wooden beams that run across the ceiling. I tried to unscrew them but there is a threaded piece of metal once I unscrew the hook. I tried to remove it with some pliers but it's in there tight, probably supported by something else, I dunno. How can I get these out?

  • I am trying to install a dimmer light but am having problems.?

There is no color on the wires, they are very old and all look the same. I was able to get the dimmer to work but in the room next to it the light stopped working. If I reconnect it works again like normal. The other switch had two wires coming out for it. The switch with the new dimmer has one ground wire and another wire that was a complete wire (no ending) with the casing cut in the middle to expose the wire which was wrapped around the screw of the old switch. Any ideas?

  • How long does it take diatomaceous earth to kill fleas outside?

I moved into a new place which has a small 100 sq ft back patio which is infested with fleas. I cleaned up the dead leaves in the area and then sprayed raid flea killer. The next day they were still hoppin'. So I bought some DE and liberally dusted the whole area. It was obvious that it doesn't kill them right away. How long should I wait until I go out back? I'm hoping that they will be gone but I know DE is not an automatic solution.

  • Can I get rid of fleas in the back If I buy a lavender, rosemary, and marigold plant?

I have a little 100 sq. ft. back area which is fenced-in and mostly brick. I just moved in and there are fleas back there. Will buying a few of these plants (which are so-called flea repellents) get rid of these pests from my back area?

  • Ouch! How do I get rid of FLEAS in this new place I moved into.?

I just moved in yesterday and stepped out back and got attacked by fleas. I cleaned up and swept the back and sprayed with a Raid flea killer. But I'm still getting bites every now and then inside the house. The landlord said he sprayed the house. How can I get rid of these suckers? I don't have any pets, but apparently the last tenants did.

  • Broke my wrist a few years back. Now it hurts when I bend it. Can it be fixed without surgery?

I broke my left radius bone on a bike fall a few years back and ever since I've had problems with it. When I try to do a push up or if I put pressure down on my left hand I have wrist pain which is very uncomfortable. I almost feel like it will break again or it will be really sore if I do put a lot of pressure on it (For example, 10 push-ups). Any suggestions on what I could do to relieve it or do you think surgery is the only fix?

  • I'm REALLY inflexible, it's bad. Will I ever be able to do the splits if I stretch for a while?

I wanna be flexible but I've always had problems stretching. I'm a 29 y/o male, 5'10 and 170 lbs. As I get older I'm noticing how bad my legs are hurting. I feel like my hamstrings and quads are always a bit tight. I've never been on a long stretching routine and I'm wondering how long it will take and how much stretching do I need to do to get really flexible and start feeling better. Can I ever do splits or is it too late in life already?
