  • I know there's technical issues with the 360 but recently I am starting to learn the PS3 ain't great either?

We all know 360 has issues but a LOT of podcasts I listen to have started moaning about the ps3 download and update service saying this can often take hours due to the set up of the ps3, where as th 360 equivalent would be a couple of minutes. Also that games take an unusual amount of time to install to harddrive - I know the 360 is dvd and ps3 blueray but x-platform games aren't that much different.

Also that voice chat playing games isn't possible, that they are introducing text chat instead (something that I think kick started the moan over yet another huge and long update).

    Anyone else validate these concerns?

  • Internet stops working after about an hour on my pc even though othre machines can still get through?

My PC after about an hour has suddenly stopped all net traffic. I can only resolve it by restarting the pc. Other machines, both wireless and wired can still get out through my router. I have tried disabling and uninstalling the wireless adapter to no effect. I have even tried uninstalling my browsers.

It is driving me nuts. I can ping some addresses sometimes but not others. I can't figure out the cause. I have no malware, spyware or adware or viruses that I can find.

Any suggestions please? Tried searching the net but get a lot of similar but not thee same problems or solutions I've already tried.

  • Is this PC any good Packard Bell iMedia 2415?

am looking for a pc to allow me to manage my digital photos, music, a little home working (on reasonable complicated and big excel sheets at 10mb a piece), as well as a little gaming (I'm not talking crysis or anything that extreme (I have a 360 and other stuff for gaming) just some good old point and click stuff (like the new sherlock homes games) and odd RTS game).

My price range is £400 - I know I could build one for that but have neither the time (our existing machine is on it's last legs) or the knowledge so opinions / alternatives appreciated.

Oh and we are keeping our old monitor.

  • Good digital compact with >10mp and at least 3x optical zoom?

I have SLR but would like a good compact digital for taking to the pub, park, parties etc. I want something with an optical zoom too. I was looking at the Samsung NV11 as I love the 5x optical zoom and the design is great. However I hear the photo quality isn't great, especially indoors (main place it will be used). The size was perfect for me to handle.

Our budget is about £180 and we live in London so any shops (I know tottenham court road is good but they're always busy when you want to ask with a queue of customers) would be great too.

  • My cat is very purrie but will often bite our hands and feet?

He is 5 months old, so still a kitten, but tends to - out of the blue - have a nibble at our hands and feet. It usually happens when he's purring and this I don't get. I understand when we hold him and he wants to get down, but not sure why he is so purrie when he does this. He is usualy sitting with us quite happy at the time. Any idea how to stop him or if he will grow out of it?

  • Are there any circuit training or similar exercise groups in south east London?

My wife is looking to get fit for a charity assault course next year and wanted to take part in some kind of circuit training rather than simply relying on gyms. Any groups or other suggestions appreciated.

  • What is good software that will allow me to synch my Sony Ericsson W950i with RSS feeds on my PC?

I know there is a RSS built into the Opera browser but that means synching over my mobile network (£). I looked at AvantGo that can synch by connecting my phone to my pc, but it isn't compatable with my phone. Does anyone know of any other software I could use?

The operating system is Symbian UIQ 3.0 with a 9.1 interface.

  • What's the best transfer rate for mp3 files?

I've just got a new w950i mobile and am transferring some cd's - it has 4gig of memory. However what's the most suitable transfer rate where no loss of sound can be noticed (it's a great msic player but it's still a mobile) andthe file size? I am currently using 96kbps.

I'm more used to ogg files (can get away with approx 40kbps plus the size is smaller & quality higher than mp3) and have little experience of mp3 size & quality issues.

  • Why are all the pre made yaho avataars not reflective of age?

(First sorry for the spelling). I'm approaching thirty (!?!) and am starting to notice that the police are looking younger and the noise they call music (Kerrang forever in my opinion). But I look younger than ever (and more hair) on my avataar...

  • Can anyone recommend a good pre-theatre restaurant near to Victoria station in London?

We're off to see Billy Elliot tonight (5th October) and wanted to go for dinner first - but this is a part of London I'm not too familiar with. Would also like the place to be cheap (I know many restaurants do pre-theatre menus of in at six and out in time for the show). Type of food un-important - we'll eat anything :-)
