  • Why does my housemate feel the need to slam doors?

She doesn't do it all of the time so she is capable of closing doors like a normal person.. but when she does 'get in the mood' she slams doors so hard it causes vibrations through the walls and floors. Is she trying to display how strong she is or something?(she's not)

  • Can landlord enter my room whenever they feel like UK?

I am a lodger in the UK, i rented a room off spareroom. I suspect my live-in landlord is frequently entering my room when I am at work. Do they need to give notice, request permission and provide a reason to enter?

  • Does anyone think that a lot of people have pretty eyes?

When the face is taken as a whole, a lot of people just have average looks and don't particularly stand out.

    .

But I noticed when everyone started wearing masks and you could only see their eyes, those eyes can appear quite pretty, even striking.

    .

Then when many of those people remove their masks, the rest of their features turn their faces into more ordinary-looking.

    .

So, either a lot of people have a not-so-attractive combination of facial shapes / noses / mouths / cheeks / etc.. with their eyes or just eyes are the most attractive feature on people, hmm

  • Would this be rude?

I am a lodger, my landlady is in the house 24/7 and she is noisy as F, making random distracting noises such as slamming doors, stamping around, very loud coughing and throat clearing, clattering dishes, and using the bathroom every 30 minutes(which is adjacent to my bedroom)... usually I just turn music on and tune out.

However, I have a 4 hour zoom interview in a few days and i'm afraid the noises will ruin my concentration and maybe annoy the interviewers.

Would it sound rude if I text her with something like "Hi, just to let you know I have an important interview on such'n'such day, between x hour and x hour" ?

  • Fake eye contact in video meetings?

I believe making eye contact is important, but I just don't understand the emphasis of faking eye contact during video meetings.. and that's what it is.. fake. I'm just staring at a tiny camera lens on my laptop, i'm not making eye contact at all, meanwhile I can't focus on what's happening on the screen.

We all know it's not real eye contact so why do people make such a big deal out of it?

  • Is this a normal reaction?

I am a male. I have had a few good chats with this woman i work with and felt like we were on nice platonic friendly terms, i was carrying some plastic flowers to make a window display and was walking towards her while she was facing away. I thought it would be funny to very lightly tap her on her far shoulder with a plastic flower so she would look the wrong way as i pass by her on her other side.

I was taken aback by her reaction, after predictably looking the wrong way, she turned toward me and said very coldly "Dont touch me".

As you can imagine, i dont even feel like talking to her anymore.

I have another female platonic friend who loves giving me hugs at the slightest opportunity, so i dont think im particularly repulsive or anything..

  • Am I being crazy?

Background: I had a crush on my female coworker ages ago and I gave her a lot of strong signals, but she really didn't seem interested so I let it go... a lot of mixed signals... and then more negative signals(when she started seeing someone)

Recently: i've gotten closer to another female coworker, whom I really like as a friend. For months, i've mostly avoided looking at crush coworker(now single as far as I know) and don't speak to her much unless she initiates a conversation, or I need something work-related... but stay civil and polite. I still have some feelings for crush coworker but hide it well. I feel like me getting closer to my coworker friend bothers crush coworker a bit.

Today, I was sitting at a computer just idly leafing through a book minding my own business and half-listening to conversations around me when I picked up crush coworker talking to her friend about this guy she saw on a night out and found attractive "he was so tall, so blah blah, and really good at dancing, etc.." then I swear there was heavy silence for a couple of seconds and then she calls my name, as if to see if i was listening to what she was saying.. I paused before turning around, making it seem like i was deeply engrossed in the book... then she just asks me some unimportant question.

    So what's going on here?

    A) she was trying to show me she's not interested in me (months after I stopped showing interest in her?)

    B) she was trying to make me jealous

    C) I am going crazy!

  • Why does my crush avoid talking about her love life in front of me?

In the past she'd sometimes mention hanging out with a "friend" that she was obviously dating at the time. I'll walk into the room and hear her talking to her friend about her love life then they will always both just stop abruptly and start talking about something else.

I'm fairly sure my crush at least suspects I have a crush on her(actually I showed strong interest in the past), and she sometimes flirts and gives me positive signals.

Is she trying to avoid hurting my feelings? wouldn't it be much better to always talk about a guy she is currently interested in, in front of me, to turn me off her?
