  • Why is my snake's skin flaking and had no appetite?

My cornflake is about eight years old and hasn't shed in a long time. Just recently she has had a lack of appetite and has refused food twice within a month (I even dangled it to make it seem alive).

When I last held her, some of her scales come off, which is weird. She has no signs of shedding and I am worried since it has been so long. No discoloration or boils (I'm confident it isn't scale rot) and she is VERY active (or restless I guess).

Any ideas on what could possibly be wrong and what to do? Thanks in advance!

    (ps temperatures around 70° humidity @ 50-60%)

  • Why does my 8 month old puppy still have accidents?

He understands that inside is not the place to go potty (he will wait by the door when he has to go) but he still has 'pee leakage' like his bladder muscle does not seem to be getting much better (though he CAN hold it all night and when we are at work which is about 8 hours at a time in his kennel). Is this normal for a puppy at this age? I also think he might be possible that he is just too distracted when he is out of the kennel and forgets, but he is my first puppy so I don't know if he should have already grown out of this or not.

  • Potty training your snake?

Hear me out first. To be honest, the absurd thought has crossed my mind before and never taken any action due to how outlandish I always thought it was, but I think I may have accidentally trained my snake to poop in specific places.. So I recently lost my snake (he slipped off me and I hadn't noticed due to my fatigued state) and went missing in my couch for about 5 days now with absolutely NO sign (so I assumed he hadn't come out) HOWEVER about an hour ago I went to take a shower and found something strange in my bathtub (hard to see w/o my glasses) and low and behold it was snake poop! Lord have I never been so happy to see it in my life! After jumping out of the shower trying to Sherlock holmes his location (and failing, then realizing the poop was a bit dry) with my flashlight, I realized that there have only ever been 2 places he has ever pooped in his life. If he was having constipation problems I would put him in some warm water which always does the trick, and the other place is his tank. This lead me to my conclusion of the possibility of having him potty trained

So think of it this way, 5 days, missing, no smell (so he prolly didn't poop anywhere else) and he slips past the blanket blocking the bathroom door crack, gets into the bathtub (getting past the shower curtain and plastic curtain) to poop?!

This made me doubly happy to see his poop. So I guess my question is whether or not anyone has ever attempted this and if so if it's ever succeeded.

  • What happens if your snake goes under the fridge?

I know they sometimes go there to seek heat, but if they DID go under there, what would happen? My snake has been missing for 2 days and I am 96% sure he is still lost in my couch.... I sealed all the doors first and then thought about the fridge and under it. I looked under it just recently and saw something that disturbed me but I can't see very well under there and I've tried several methods. So I was wondering what could happen... I can't move my fridge at ALL...

Like I said, 96% sure he's not under it...

  • How do you find a snake in a couch?

my snake has ninja-ed his way into my couch and I cannot find him, hear him, or sense him.... I know he is in the couch because I saw his tail disappear in the crack after I took off the cushions... I've cut 2 holes into the fabric and noticed that the bottom of the couch is hollow. So I set up his heating lamp, water, and bait mouse (I was ironically preparing his dinner for the week when he got lost so I know he is hungry) as well as newsprint around the house in case I hear him... Does anyone have any other suggestions? I even took a chopstick, stuck my hand into the slits I made in the couch, and moved it around gently in areas I couldn't see...

  • Emailing Japan?

Before my friends left for Japan, he gave me his email, but the end part was @hotmail.co.jp and every variation I use for his email doesn't work. I've tried @hotmail.com and @hotmail.com.jp. Is there some special way? or could he have just given me the wrong email address?
