How did our human ancestors evolve to have better medicine adsorption under the tongue?
Favourite answer:You have it backwards.
The underside of the tongue does not need particularly thick skin as it's not normally in contact with possibly abrasive materials in food.
It also needs to be extremely flexible to allow the tongue the maximum movement within the mouth.
And the blood vessels that supply the tongue are least likely to be damaged if away from the top surface of the tongue; towards the underside.
Add those together and you get an area with particularly thin and elastic skin over an area rich in blood vessels.
Doctors and drug developers simply taking advantage of that fact.

If evolution is real?
If evolution is real, why are there still monkeys and no mermaids?
If humans evolve from monkeys, why didn't all the monkeys become humans?
And since dolphins are the most intelligent animal after humans, why didn't we evolve into mermaids? That way, we could become the ultimate species on land and sea.
What steps can I take to help evolution achieve mermaids?

Can ribosomes also manufacture nucleic acid & not just protein, like when a virus reproduces itself inside a host cell?
As I understand it, ribosomes in the cell manufacture proteins as needed by the body, but only proteins & not nucleic acids. Yet when a virus invades & hijacks the machinery of the host cell for its own purposes, the final product is thousands of newly minted copies of the whole virus nucleoprotein--that is, protein & nucleic acid together. How did the nucleic acid part come about--was it also produced by the host cell’s ribosomes,or by some other mechanism in the cell?

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ON THIS?
Favourite answer:1. A sphygmomanometer is a device used to measure blood pressure or BP.
2. A BP of 140/90 is stage 2 hypertension IF the patient under 65. A BP of 150/80 can be normal in an 85 year old. Because you did not give an age, we can not give you a better answer.
3. Again, this will depend on the age of the patient, comorbidities, etc. Also, one blood pressure measure is NEVER enough. You usually need three different measurement on three different occasion. Patients tend to be anxious, nervous when they visit their doctor (look up "white coat syndrome") and this will raise their blood pressure. In fact we even take blood pressure reading 2 times during a check-up for this reason. As I have stated, treatment will depend on several blood pressure measurements, blood work to rule out secondary causes, comorbidities (ie. you don't want to give a beta blocker to someone with asthma, etc.). The treatment can range from not doing anything and just monitoring the patient to lifestyle changes such as decrease salt intake and exercise to one or more drugs.
